An Outstanding Scene, Excellent Writing Fatal Attraction 2023
Wanted to write about an excellent piece of dialog from Fatal Attraction 2023 that still keep circling my brain, so here it is, but before I write about the scene, let me just write a little about the performances in the show.
Three performances I loved Lizzy Caplan, Amanda Peet and Alyssa Jirrels, while Lizzy Caplan was fresh in my cache memory ( yeah I am a coder ) from her excellent performance in “Fleishman Is in Trouble (2022)” as Libby Caplan , My wife actually loved the character of Libby, this was one of the show I watched with my wife. Anyhow Lizzy Caplan character was totally different in Fatal Attractions, I love characters with trail of Psychotic spill marks.
In episode 8 the last episode, around 6 Min in the show Beth (Amanda Peet) calls (Arthur Brian Goodman) and says “But the truth is, if he could stop her, he would have done it before I ever knew she existed, but he didn’t, because he can’t” I found this amazing, the two lines expresses the misery, fear and emotional horror. Its amazing what good writing and performance can create an excellent scene.
Lastly Alyssa Jirrels (as Ellen Gallagher) performance in the last two episode excels as her character transitions into a well-defined psychotic behaviour.
Looking forward to few of Lizzy Caplan upcoming projects Cobweb 2023 and Zero day.
